To answer this question, Pawel Plaszczak (President of GridwiseTech) presented a short movie during the VPH-Initiative Day on 9th September  2009 in Brussels.  It explains the idea of AdHoc software, currently being used in the  ViroLab project (consortium of 14 hospitals and universities across Europe). These institutions, who are distributed amongst 8 countries, share significant amounts of data, databases and applications to jointly perform research on HIV/AIDS.
