Description
GIMIAS is a Graphical Interface for Biomedical Image Analysis and Simulation, which is intended as an open source framework to enable the development of computational imaging and simulation intensive applications with a particular emphasis on clinical translation. In addition, GIMIAS is part of the VPH Toolkit of the Virtual Physiological Human Network of Excellence (www.vph-noe.eu). GIMIAS has thus far been largely developed in CISTIB, in Barcelona (www.cistib.upf.edu) although we are also aiming to introduce and further develop it in Sheffield. You can get more information about the platform on www.gimias.org.
For those interested in using GIMIAS, we’ll be hosting two specialized workshops in Sheffield on February 1st and 2nd 2012. Two scientific developers currently based in Barcelona will come and introduce GIMIAS for two different target audiences. On Feb 1st, there will be a basic course oriented towards general users of the platforms, while on Feb 2nd there will be a second part, more advanced, which is intended for people whose interest is in developing applications atop the framework. Advanced users are advised to attend both modules. Both courses are free of charge and open to everybody. However, for planning purposes, we’d like it if you could register to the event as soon as possible. Details on the course, including registration instructions can be found in the following documents:
