 The Image Analytics and Informatics global technology field of Siemens Corporate Research (SCR) has an immediate opening for a full-time research scientist position. Ideal candidates will have in-depth knowledge of biophysical modeling (continuum mechanics, FEM) of the heart function, medical imaging systems and medical image analysis, as well as strong software development skills.

 

 Responsibilities:

- Perform research in the area of multi-scale modeling of cardiac electro-mechanics to advance the state-of-the-art, including generating publications in top journals and conferences.

- Perform research in the area of biophysical model personalization from clinical data (images, signals, reports, etc).

- Translate technology to provide working solutions for commercial, scientific or industrial applications.

- Quick prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of software components.

- Definition of algorithm requirements in collaboration with customers.

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent relevant discipline.

- Proven record in biophysical modeling of the heart function with record in research, innovative thinking and real world problem solving (numerical modeling and optimization techniques in particular).

- Strong experience in numerical solvers for biophysical simulations.

- Ability to develop new research ideas to the level of a working system prototype.

- Ability to quickly prototype in C++. GPU programming experience is a plus.

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and can do attitude.

- Ability to work independently and prioritize work.

- Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
