Call for abstracts for MeDDiCA workshop in VPH2012
As part of VPH2012 MeDDiCA will be organizing a workshop on Cardiovascular Applications and Medical Device Design and Assessment. The workshop aims to provide a platform for young scientists (see attached for requirements) involved in VPH, within the specific research fields of Cardiovascular Engineering and Medical Devices and papers are invited from “young researchers” (as first or second author). The abstract submission deadline is the same as the general call for abstracts for VPH2012 (29th February 2012).
This workshop will provide an opportunity for a discussion on standards as well as fostering interaction between young experimentalists and modellers, which could lead to long-term networking. It will also promote better interactions between the experts and the participants. The scope of the workshop includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
- Cardiovascular Stenting.
- Tissue deformation and tissue growth
- Left ventricular assist devices.
- Catheter design.
- Thrombus formation.
- Haemodynamics in complex patient-specific geometries.
- Heart valve dynamics.
- Percutaneous implantation of valve devices
