Description
BioModels Meeting 2009
The Fourth BioModels Meeting will be held from March 28 to 30, 2009, at the EBI in Cambridge (United Kingdom). The annual BioModels meeting is a gathering of BioModels resources developers and curators, users, developers of third-party tools, and people who would know more about it. The meeting will feature presentations from the various attendees, demo of the new features of BioModels Database, tutorials, and discussion sessions. This event will follow (and partialy overlap with) the 7th SBML Hackathon, which will also be held at the EBI.
The theme of this meeting is: Data integration for Systems Biology, and there will be an emphasis on annotation of models, and how to use them to enhance the semantics models and improve their exchange, processing and analysis.
Registration
A joint registration form for the 7th SBML Hackathon and the BioModels meeting is available here.
Pre-meeting Background Information
The following pre-meeting background materials are available:
BioModels Database
BioModels Database is a data resource that allows biologists to store, search and retrieve published mathematical models of biological interests. Models present in BioModels Database are annotated and linked to relevant data resources, such as publications, databases of compounds and pathways, controlled vocabularies, etc.
Systems Biology Ontology
The Systems Biology Ontology project develops controlled vocabularies tailored specifically for the kinds of problems being faced in systems biology, especially in the context of computational modeling.
MIRIAM
MIRIAM is an effort to standardize the "Minimal Information Requested In the Annotation of biochemical Models". This allows different groups to collaborate on annotating and curating computational models in biology.
