workshop on modelling and simulation approaches

Where:
Copenhagen, Denmark - Copenhagen
Category:
VPH workshop

Description

The Dutch Top Institute Pharma and BioLogue/University of Copenhagen have organised workshops on modelling and simulation approaches in drug discovery and development.

Advanced modelling and simulation techniques are increasingly applied in all phases of modern drug development. This workshop emphasizes the critical role of modelling and simulation in drug discovery strategies to increase the success rate. The question addressed, is how modelling and simulation can improve the prediction of drug effects in man from pre-clinical in silico, in vitro and in vivo investigations. This will require the interfacing of various types of modelling: chemoinformatics, systems biology, and pharmacological (PKPD) modelling and ultimately the modelling of clinical trials. It will be discussed how integration of these types of modelling will not only increase the success rate of drug discovery, but will also enhance the efficiency of the drug development process leading to shorter development times.

There will be two workshops:

Thursday November, 19, 2009, Carlsberg Academy, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Tuesday November, 24, 2009, Naturalis, Leiden, the Netherlands.

The programme of the workshops will be similar in both countries. Participation is free of charge.
