Pre-doctoral work/thesis on integrative modelling and in silico prediction of drug biological properties.
Job description
The selected candidate will participate in projects aiming to the in silico prediction of the
biological properties of novel drug candidates. The research will be carried out within a large
consortium including the most important European pharmaceutical companies and some of the
best in silico prediction experts in Europe.
The Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) laboratory (http://cadd.imim.es) is part of the
Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) (http://grib.imim.es), a joint unit of the IMIMHospital
del Mar and the University Pompeu Fabra, located at the PRBB, Barcelona.
Requirements
- A degree or master in informatics or mathematics. Other scientific degrees will be also considered (biology, pharmacy, physics, telecommunication engineer, etc.)
- Good programming skills (C/C++, Java)
- Experience in database management (MySQL)
- Knowledge of the Linux environment
- Some experience with R, MatLab, Octave or other statistical/mathematical languages
- Intermediate English level
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
Contract
Position available immediately. Salary according to profile and previous experience. Interested
candidates can make their PhD thesis on this project under the supervision of the head of the
laboratory.
