The Computational Biochemistry and Biophysics Laboratory (CBBL) at the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) is seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician to join a cutting edge biomedical informatics project.
The candidate will participate in the Avanza-funded project ActivA, which supposes a joint effort between industry, academia and clinics to develop new tools for the monitoring and treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. The task to be developed by the candidate involves programming tools and protocols in the interface between the visualization system and the knowledge management environment provided by the platform. The candidate is expected to be proficient in one or more of the following fields: biomedical ontologies, genome bioinformatics, human genetics informatics, workflow design (TAVERNA or similar environments), and computational systems biology. Minimum requirement is a profound expertise in Javascript/XML (AJAX), PHP and MySQL.
The salary is 28550€/year before taxes, for an initial period of 12 months, starting inmediately.
The GRIB/IMIM/UPF is part of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park which, with a privileged location on the shoreline of the Mediterranean sea, constitutes one of the most exciting interdisciplinary research centres in Southern Europe in one of the fastest growing biomedical research regions in the area.
